Message of Support from Members of the Diplomatic Corps of the Democratic Republic of the Congo
07 February 2025

Ambassador François Balumuene, extraordinary and plenipotentiary representative of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) in China and dean of the DRC ambassadors, recently issued an important statement on behalf of the Congolese diplomatic corps. This message reflects the deep concern of the diplomats regarding the critical security situation in the east of the country.
In this statement, the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassadors of the DRC accredited to various foreign powers express their deep concern about the widespread insecurity in the eastern part of the country. They emphasize that this situation is the result of an unjustified aggression by Rwanda that has persisted for more than three decades.
As personal representatives of President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo and spokespersons for the government and the Congolese people abroad, the diplomats reaffirm their unwavering commitment and unconditional support to the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (FARDC). They also extend this support to the brave soldiers of the FARDC and the fearless Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, the Wazalendo, for their determination to defend the territorial integrity of the DRC at all costs.
The initiative of Ambassador François Balumuene to deliver this message demonstrates his deep commitment and that of his colleagues towards the current situation in the DRC. As a dean and respected figure of the Congolese diplomatic corps, his involvement underscores the importance and urgency of the situation, as well as the solidarity of the diplomatic corps with the national leadership and the country's defense forces.[1]
