The Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the People's Republic of China issues ordinary passports to Congolese nationals staying in the People's Republic of China in two cases: first-time application and renewal.

In both cases, the applicant must ensure the accuracy of the information regarding their origins (Province, Territory, sector, locality, and ethnicity) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. For renewal, omission, or conflicting information compared to what is available in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs database may result in a rejection of the passport application.

In all cases, passport applications must be made in person (with the passport for renewal cases) at the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Beijing.

The first passport application

The first passport application concerns minors born in the territory of the People's Republic of China. In this case, parents accompany the child to apply for the passport for the first time.

To do this, the application folder includes the following elements:

• A duly completed and signed identification form.
• An excerpt from the child's birth certificate;
• A photocopy of the passports of both parents;
• The price of the biometric passport is 100 USD.
• 2 passport photos (2-inch format) taken within the last 6 months with a white background;
• Passport application form duly filled out;
• The passport fee payment form (100 USD) - payable only at the "Bank of China" located at Embassy District, 5 Sanlitun Ave, Chaoyang District, Beijing.

Passport Renewal

• A duly completed and signed identification form;
• 2 passport photos (2-inch format) taken within the last 6 months with a white background;
• Passport application form duly filled and signed;
• The payment slip for the passport fees (100 USD) - payable only to the account of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo at the "Bank of China" located at Quartier des Ambassades, 5, San Li Tun Ave, Chaoyang district, Beijing.
